ADMISSION POLICY
The IB Diploma Programme is a two year programme for students aged between 16 and 18. It starts at the beginning of 10 th grade. It is recognized internationally as a qualification for university entrance. The programme is based on six courses at higher or standard level in addition to three core requirements as Extended Essay, CAS, and TOK.
ASBL Admissions Procedures:
Students from ASBL and other schools who want to enroll in the IB Diploma Programme are required to submit:
1. Formal letter of Intention; Students should bear in mind that there is no guarantee that they will be able to enroll in the programme.
2. School's Application Form for IBDP
3. Copies of the student's previous school reports/transcripts for the 9 th grade.
4. A confidential reference letter from the student's current school to IB Diploma Programme Coordinator if student is attending another school.
5. A special needs profile if Special Educational Needs are applicable or medical report for any special arrangements.
Academic Requirements:
Followings are the Academic Enrollment Requirements for students who want to enroll in IBDP :
1. Must take an entrance exam at the end of 9th grade prepared by the school's exam committee. Exam topics will include English (50%), Literature (30%), Math(10%), Biology(10%)
2. Proficiency in English based on the entrance exam. Students should score a minumum of 70 from the entrance exam.
3.Proficiency in Literature based on the entrance exam. Students should score a minumum of 70 from the entrance exam.
4. Grade of the student from English must not be less than 60 out of 100 at 9th grade.
5. Students appling from other schools must take an entrance exam too. Students will be accepted according to their ranks in the exam from highest to lowest on the basis of the schools' quato.
Other Requirements:
1.Students shouldn't have any disciplinary case.
2.School hours for IBDP students will be 9 hour/day and 45 hours per week. Any IBDP students automatically accept these.
3.Parents should pay the enterence fee determined by the school.
4.All IBDP students automatically accept school policies; academic honesty, admission, assessment, language and SEN policy.
5.Parents/legal guardians are required to read and sign the schools'admission policy. By signing, parents/legal guardians indicate that they accept the terms and conditions for their son/daughter to be considered for admission to the IB Diploma Programme at ASBL.
